Welcome to Climate Adaptation Day, being held on September 20, 2024 in Nukualofa in the Kingdom of Tonga!
As the world continues to face the pressing challenges of climate change, it becomes increasingly important to recognize and implement innovative solutions that foster environmental sustainability and resilience. This year, we are thrilled to invite you to a special event that highlights both the practical steps being taken at the grassroots level and the remarkable achievements of leaders in the field. Join us for a day at Nishi Farm followed by an inspiring evening at the Stars of Oceania Award Ceremony.
Morning to Afternoon: Climate Adaptation and Nishi Farm Tour
The day begins at Nishi Farm, an exemplary model of how agriculture can adapt to changing climate conditions. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the farm through a guided tour, witnessing firsthand the cutting-edge practices and technologies that make Nishi Farm a leader in sustainable agriculture.
The tour will include the official opening of the newly completed Coolstore and Solar Project. This project is not just a testament to innovation in renewable energy but also a crucial step towards reducing carbon footprints and promoting energy self-sufficiency in agricultural practices.
Throughout the day, we will also hear from various individuals who will share their “Impact Stories from the Region.” These narratives will highlight the local and regional efforts to combat climate change and will serve as a beacon of inspiration for all attendees, showcasing the tangible impacts of dedicated environmental stewardship.
